Roku Gin

Our Spirit of the Week is Suntory’s Roku Gin, a Japanese Craft Gin at 47% ABV.

Roku is a complex yet harmonious gin that incorporated six traditional Japanese botanicals which are infused, distilled and blended by Suntory’s artisans in Osaka, Japan. The six unique botanicals are further augmented with eight other botanicals for a total of fourteen botanicals which creates its distinct tase.

The best way to have this gin is with either a regular tonic or even soda so as to not overpower the taste of the botanicals.

Tasting Notes

Roku Gin has etheric cherry blossom top note. Notes of citron green tea and pepper appear briefly as it quiets quickly. The fragrant scent passes and dissipates easily. The spirit is smooth and oily, and has a rich character as it coats the tongue. Before the tea and tannic notes take over there’s a fleeting glimpse of cherry blossom and typical gin notes.
